THIS IS A PHISHING EXTENSION, I AM SURPRISED TO DISCOVER THEY BASICALLY MAKE YOU HOSTILE BY BLOCKING THE ORIGINAL WEBSITE AND ALLOWING THE PHISHING ONES. THEY ALSO BLOCKED FEW WEBSITES WHICH WERE SAFE AND ADDED THEM IN LIST OF BLOCKED BY EXTENSION, BUT WHEN YOU TRY TO REMOVE THEM FROM MALWARE BYTES BLOCK LIST THEY DON'T SHOW, HAHA THEY ARE MAKING A RANSOM MONEY LATER BY ASKING TO GO FOR PREMIUM IN CASE YOU WISH TO UNBLOCK THE SET OF WEBSITE THEY BLOCKED. VERY CLEVER YET SHAME ON YOU FRAUDSTERS.

seems to be either 2 scams every time you fresh install google chrome with only ublock origin lite and mal along with the default extension from google ever since the new chrome update. when checking with the free trial on what website was a scam it only shows a date and time and nothing else. No website Also the moment i updated google chrome on my other laptop it immediately detected exactly 2 scam i have repeated a full wipe 5 times and every time confirmed that it was a legit google chrome every time with the same result. every chrome installer was signed and and checked in virus total to be clean and i made sure each time that it was from the legit chrome installer. edit uninstalled ublock origin lite and it still shows up the two scam after wiping chrome and reinstalling it. note on my gaming laptop is not signed to google but my main laptop is and there both getting the same thing. This only started after the recent update in google chrome. Mal Version = 3.0.17 google chrome = 135.0.7049.85

Never had a problem until recently. I was searching up a random search, did not even have a website in the name, and when it went to show me the search results, Malwarebytes instantly redirected me to a phishing website, then blocked it when I should've just been looking at google search results. I decided to look up the website it was blocking me from (STILL, just on google) and it did the same thing. It took me literal HOURS trying to figure out if I had a virus until I ended up uninstalling google completely, reinstalling it, and the same issue. This was my only browser extension and it was the thing blocking the phishing website, so I assumed it wasn't the issue. After coming on here and seeing the other reviews, I realized it was. I uninstalled the extension, looked up the same thing I had been, and no redirecting. Reinstalled, checked again, same issue I'd been having. Please, fix this. I spent hours thinking I had a virus and trying to scan my computer and lost a bunch of data I had saved on google due to this. It's not a browser hijacker, it's this extension.

worked great for a while until it started auto-sending me to websites when i was trying to search things on google, unsure why it even happened but its really annoying. never clicked on any link for it to do so, it just decided that one day it would automatically send me to websites i haven't visited in ages.

This extension redirects you to websites when you try to simply google something! I have spent the last 40 minutes testing, resetting scanning, googling, EVERYTHING, ... and now i just found out it's this extension ... omg! why would this extension cause redirecting to websites when googling something when this extension is supposed to HELP you with this lmao

Suddenly, an error appeared on some of the sites I frequented. I found it annoying because it seemed like more advertising from the brand. Until then, everything had been going well.

Good extension, but causing a lot of stutter and lagging, as well as fps drops if the extension cache is not cleared, there should be a feature to automatically clear cache or something, I hope the dev is working on fixing the issue, took me a long time to find out the root cause of my browser being extremely slow and operate at 3fps when scrolling.

This extension wasted months of my time by freezing, slowing down, and crashing my Chrome. Certain websites (e.g., Skool) were completely unusable, together with this extension, it would crash or totally freeze Chrome. Only once I discovered this extension was the culprit and disabled it was all the problems gone. There are severe performance and stability problems with this extension. The developers need to take this seriously and look into it. I didn't expect that from Malwarebytes.

Good stuff

On many websites, this Extension will close Drop Down Menus or floating ToolTip Messages or anything that's a floating DIV. You hover over a menu, it opens and after a second it closes. Does not happen when I disable this extension, so it's the cause.

Awesome system! It blocked all of my ad's, scams, and malware. Awesome website. But only thing is that my youtube homepage has some pretty bug gaps in it. But it's alright. If you are looking forward to using this extenstion, I would recommend using it for blocking ad's.

Malwarebytes back at it again with the marketing scare tactics and poorly handling breach info

Very high power consumption. Same in Chrome and Edge. v3.0.9

Extension blocks all ads from yt and doesn't struggle doing that, like other ad blockers. i get no ads on every website i go. Thanks!

My browsing works fine without it, thankfully, I'm too old to figure these things out.

Jamie Wilson

I use it to block malware and scams, so ad/tracker blocking is turned off—yet it recently started blocking ads and trackers, too. Very frustrating.

It very good but it blocking my Doctor site and wont let me in to the patiant portal which is a pain so I have to turn it off to get in to that site.. I think you need a way for "us" to say allow this site or dont block this site and leave it on for the rest.

Browser Guard isn't blocking ads on chromium browsers anymore and doesn't recognize my premium account status. Also, the Website login won't send an email code to login. Also Also, their anti-malware premium version is blocking windows definition and security updates. Maybe this product tanking means they're just a data mining company now. Wouldn't surprise me. I've never seen a company drop off this bad in product quality and then fix it later, writing is on the wall. Say bye bye to this one.

LAST TIME I am reinstalling this extension. It still is not functionong beyond the closing of the browser. Have to un/reinstall to use. It also is causing lag in all streaming sites, like Pluto/Cracked. I have been losing faith in your SF since my "Life Time" account back when with Windows was suddenly no longer lifetime. Now your free SF dosent function? Wow Fix it, you are losing customers(IE PAYING).

Watch Me Watch Stuff

It stopped blocking anything. Had to uninstall and reinstall. It's blocking some things but still letting a lot through

Hey Malwarebytes! Please fix the browser guard extension! It stops working upon closing down chrome, the only fix for this it seems is removing the extension from chrome entirely, then readding it back to chrome. upon closing chrome it deactivates and says that it requires you to subscribe to premium. Very strange! it stopped blocking cookies and ad/ trackers too! i had to manually block them on chrome. either way the browser guard has rendered itself non functional! it seems that version 2.6.19 is having some issues. please have your team look into this issue and resolve it soon please! Thanks, -A loyal Malwarebytes customer.

it crashes chrome every time i open it :(

As of yesterday, Malwarebytes browser guard locked me out of eBay, and today (apparently the latest version came out today) is it not blocking ANY website. I tried to submit a ticket at support.malwarebytes.com - but it was rejected because an account with my E-mail address could not be located. The support page did list Browser Guard as a choice for support, which I followed, but Browser Guard is an extension downloaded from the Chrome Web Store with no account required. The 'Factory Reset' did not resolve the problem. I restored my system from a backup made before the browser guard update to version 2.6.19 and then browser guard worked as expected - for a very short time, before it updated itself. This is on the Chrome-based Brave browser. It is now 6:30 PM on 25 January - and Malwarebytes Browser Guard is working again on both my PC's. I had not changed anything on my end involving this issue, and the version number shown is still 2.6.19, so I am best-guessing that the Malwarebytes guys did their thing on their end; thanks if so!

As of today, this is blocking ALL of my sites. I have numerous browsers/tabs open, all common, popular sites and they are ALL being blocked as of today. Why???
